THE 13TH ALLEY: PRODUCER/DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
Bobb Hopkins has been producing films since 1975. His first movie was
a 90 minute student film that amazed his teacher and classmates who
were expected to deliver 10 minute efforts. He studied acting with
legendary Method Master Lee Strasberg (who taught Marlon Brando,
James Dean, Paul Newman, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro). He also
studied writing with screenplay guru Syd Fields (who tutored numerous
Academy Award-winning writers). He graduated from Sherwood Oaks
Film School where he learned all aspects of production from working
directors and producers, including esteemed James B. Harris who
produced three Stanley Kubrick movies (Eyes Wide Shut, Clockwork
Orange, Paths of Glory, Lolita).
Mr. Hopkins earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of
New Hampshire. He was an All-Conference Quarterback and Team
Captain at UNH. He played briefly with the Chicago Bears and New
York Jets.
In 1987, he founded the National Hobo Association to benefit needy
hoboes and preserve the history of the American icon. Among the
members are/were former hoboes Merle Haggard, Ernest Borgnine,
James A. Michener, Roger Miller and Melvin Belli.
